Edna N. (Guttridge) Brugh, 100, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Friday, April 24, 2015, at William Penn Care Center in Penn Township, surrounded by her loving family. Edna formerly resided in Swissvale, Venice, Fla., for 32 years, and seven years in Severna Park, Md. She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in North Braddock, a daughter of the late Alfred and Hannah (Birch) Guttridge. In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 Years, Clyde O. Brugh, in 1988; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Autumn Soltys, in 2001; and two sisters, Anne Gilmour and Elizabeth Fox. She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Yvonne D. Taczak, of Murrysville, and Emily B. Soltys and her husband, Al, whom she considered her son, of Severn, Md.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Edna worked at the Swissvale Carnegie Library, Carnegie Mellon University and Long Vue Country Club. She was an Allegheny County Committeewoman for 20 years and a committeewoman for the 7th District in Swissvale for 10 years. Edna was a past Matron and Patron of Amaranth and a past member of Eastern Star as well as a past member of the former Swissvale United Methodist Church. She is presently a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was extremely talented, creative and enjoyed her many hobbies which included china painting, ceramics, sewing projects of all types and numerous other crafts. Edna was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan! Edna was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately called "G.G." by the great-grandchildren. And she made the world's best taffy apples! Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Faith United Methodist Church in Delmont, with the Rev. Ronald Raptosh presiding. The family requests that everyone please meet at the church. Interment services will follow at Monongahela Cemetery in North Braddock.
