William M. McIlvaine, 91, of Greensburg, Salem Township, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at William Penn Care, in Penn Township. He was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Greensburg, son of the late Scott and Eva (Fink) McIlvaine. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary McIlvaine, and two brothers, Scott and Ralph McIlvaine. William is survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy McIlvaine, of Salem Township; nieces, Mary Barton (Ken) and Cathy Herrod (Clay); and nephews, Harry McIlvaine (Sarah) and John McIlvaine (Mary Ann). After proudly serving and honorably discharged from the Army, William worked for Bell Telephone and retired as a manger. Richard was a Master Mason and member of Jeannette Lodge No. 750 and a life member of Shriners International. He was a lifetime member of Delmont Presbyterian Church. An avid golfer in the summer, enjoyed bowling in the winter, he also loved farming.
By William's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Delmont Presbyterian Church, 101 Church St., Delmont, with Pastor Caroline Vickery presiding.
