Phyllis Savilla (Schoepp) Kimball

Phyllis Savilla (Schoepp) Kimball, 83, passed away of a ministroke Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at her home in New Alexandria. Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband, Richard W. Kimball, of New Alexandria, whom she married in 1957 in Flushing, N.Y.; two sons, Kenneth Scott Kimball and his wife, Katja, of Indianapolis, Ind., and David Eric Kimball and his wife, Tamara, of New Kensington; and a brother, John Francis Schoepp, of St. Petersburg, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents. Phyllis was born Jan. 23, 1935, in the Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late John Stephen and Medellna Schoepp. She grew up in Flushing, N.Y., graduated from Flushing High School and received a degree in early childhood education from Queens College. Upon graduation, she accepted a teaching position with the Cranford, New Jersey School System. She also obtained a master's degree from Union County Teachers College while living in Cranford. Phyllis also lived in Waterloo, Belgium for four years prior to moving to New Alexandria in 1976. Phyllis was an active woman who was deeply involved with Teen Challenge of Western PA for more than 35 years and still corresponded with the graduates. She enjoyed family and friends who will always remember her as a thoughtful, kind and generous person. 
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, with a funeral service commencing at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dale Adams, of Life Spring Church, Greensburg, presiding. Interment services will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont with a reception following at Life Spring Christian Church in Greensburg. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis's life.
