Leona Hanks Obituary

Leona K. (Kebernick) Hanks, 90, of Greensburg, formerly of Delmont, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. The Hanks family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Redstone Highlands for their sincere and compassionate care. Leona was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Irwin, daughter of the late Otto and Gertrude M. (Cleland) Kebernick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, the Rev. John W. Hanks; a son, Jeffrey L. Hanks; sisters, Gertrude K. Ekhardt and Lida G. Niederhiser; and a brother, Otto C. Kebernick. Leona is survived by her son, Dale. W. Hanks (Jan), of Export; daughter-in-law, Cathy A. Hanks, of Delmont; and grandchildren, Casey J. Hanks, of Delmont, Jessica M. Nicklos (Chad), of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Shawn L. Hanks, also of Delmont.
Honoring Leona's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private memorial service will be celebrated at a future date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, Delmont, 724-468-8381.
