William H. Hartman, 87, of Delmont, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at William Penn Care Center, Penn Township. His family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to William Penn Care, Ark Manor of Delmont and Heartland Hospice for their sincere and compassionate care. William was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Washington Township, son of the late Lester C. and Mary Pearl (Hawk) Hartman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Hartman. William is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol (Bush) Hartman; daughters, Loretta A. Hartman, of White Valley, and Lois Bowman (Keith), of Export; and a son, Kevin W. Hartman (Sue); grandchildren, Brianna Casini (AJ), MacKenzie Hartman (Molly), and Adam Bowman (Laura); great-grandchildren, Addison, Alyssa, and Vayda; and a sister, Geraldine Schwab (Bud), of Apollo. William retired from Beckwith Machinery, and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Delmont. He was a 32nd degree Mason Blue Lodge Forbes Trail 783 in Export, a member of Royal Chapter 192 Masons and also the Scottish Rite. He proudly served in the Army Reserve.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Delmont, with Pastor Kara Probst presiding. Interment services will follow at Eastview Union Cemetery in Delmont.
