Nora Mae (Albaugh) Whipkey, 87, of Delmont, formerly of Kecksburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Ark Manor in Delmont. The Whipkey family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ark Manor and to Via Quest Hospice, especially to Betty, Jamie, Tracy and Nate, for their heartfelt and sincere care. Nora was born April 6, 1931, in Indiana, Pa., daughter of the late Kenneth P. and Nora M. (Kettering) Albaugh. In addition to her parents, Nora was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert R. Whipkey. She is survived by her son, Robert Whipkey, M.D. and his wife, Carla Whipkey, M.D., of Murrysville; grandchildren, Trey Whipkey (Liza), Rebecka Hendricks, Samantha Hunter (Chris) and Daniel Hendricks; great-grandson, Zackary Hunter; and a brother, William P. Albaugh. Nora loved to crochet and make her own clothing. She enjoyed planting her own garden, reading, and especially decorating for every holiday.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Caroline Vickery presiding. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Kecksburg.
