Harold Painter Obituary

Harold V. Painter, 90, of Mamont, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Ark Personal Care Home in Delmont. He was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Export, son of the late Allen H. and Mabel (Branthoover) Painter. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Seth N. Adamik; a sister-in-law, Jean (Silvis) Painter; and two brothers, Richard Painter and his wife, Miriam (Geiger) Painter, and Gerald Painter. Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Evelyn (Wolff) Painter; son, Alan Painter and his wife, Patty, of Dayton, Pa., and daughter, Cheryl L. Adamik, of Murrysville; grandchildren, Matthew Painter (Jessica), Michael Painter, Jeremy Adamik (Monica), five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Painter. He was discharged in 1947 after proudly serving in the Army. He was a member of Poke Run Presbyterian Church in Mamont. He was a 1980 graduate of Penn State University, where he majored in agriculture. Prior to his retirement in 1981 from the U.S. Post Office in Murrysville, Harold was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad in Pitcairn. He was also a representative for Phillip Roy Financial Estate Planning and a member of Rural Mail Carriers Association. Harold enjoyed farming and hunting, and was an avid bee keeper.
By the family's request, there will be no visitation, and funeral arrangements will be held privately. Funeral arrangements are being handled by BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, Delmont, Pa., 724-468-8381.
