Rebecca Jane (Lindquist) Taylor, 82, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at Excela Health Westmoreland in Greensburg. She was born Dec. 27, 1932, in McKeesport, and raised in Pitcairn, a daughter of the late Thomas R. and Fern V. (Carlson) Lindquist. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas I. Taylor; son, Robert Taylor; daughter, Lucille Stockton; sisters, Joyce Sharlow, Joan DeBone, Judy Lindquist and Jean Lindquist; and brother, Stanley "Bruce" Lindquist. Jane is survived by her loving family; sons, Alan Taylor, of Florida, Thomas Taylor Jr. and his wife, Shari, of Crabtree, and William Taylor, of Tennessee; and daughter, Kathleen Taylor, of Kansas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Lindquist and his wife, Margaret "Mickey", of Acme, and Samuel Lindquist and his wife, MayBelle, of Manor; a sister, Janice Matiasic, of Greensburg; and also numerous nieces and nephews. Jane was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Greensburg, where she was very active, especially in the church choir. She was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts for more than 35 years and a very active member with Alwine Civic Center in Greensburg, especially with the Thimble Sisters. Jane also volunteered at the Palace Theater and the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, making sets and props for plays. She was also an extremely artistic woman with talents including basket-weaving, making wedding cakes, woodcarving and much more. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381. Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthias Lutheran Church, 100 Chapel View Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601, with Pastor Paul Fruesu presiding. Interment services will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
