Raymond S. Owens, Jr.

Raymond S. Owens Jr., 68, of Westmoreland City, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Forbes Regional Health Center in Monroeville. He was born Jan. 15, 1948, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Raymond S. Sr. and Anna (Popovich) Owens. In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Wasil and Fannie Popovich. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sandra (Crusan) Owens; daughters, Candy Long and her husband, Ronald, of Slickville, and Lisa Heminger, and her husband, Brian, of Adamsburg; a son, Eric Owens, of Manor: six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Izzabella and Alivia; a brother, Thomas Owens and his wife, Deanna, of York; three sisters, Barbara Mayers and her husband, Douglas, of Irwin, and Marlene Higgins and her husband, Ron, of Tidioute, and Colleen Radjenovich and her husband, Nick, of Irwin; and also numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Air Force, where he was wounded during the Vietnam War. He also loved hunting and fishing.
A memorial gathering where friends will be able to gather with the family 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, with a blessing service, time announced later.
