Marian L. (Hurlbert) Schweppe

Marian L. (Hurlbert) Schweppe, 82, of Salem Township, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at The Willows of Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont. She was born July 6, 1934, in Indiana, Pa., a daughter of the late Mahlon D. Sr. and Helen A. (Strayer) Hurlbert. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Schweppe Sr., and a brother, the Rev. Mahlon D. Hurlbert Jr. She is survived by her loving family: son, Robert L. Schweppe Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Salem Township; daughters, Debbie Schweppe (John), of Leechburg, and Susie Welsh-Gustafson and her husband, Gus, of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Ryan Schweppe, Shawn Schweppe (Vivian), Matthew Schweppe (Megan), and Shane and Trevor Welsh; great-granddaughter, Lydia Marie; nephews, James Schweppe and Scott Schweppe; brother-in-law, James E. Schweppe Sr. (Patsy), of Dover, Del. Marian was a member of Congruity Presbyterian Church in New Alexandria, where she was a deacon, enjoyed singing in the church choir and was a member of the Women's Association. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Crazy 8 Club.  Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. H. Clifton Foster presiding. Interment services will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
