Margaret J. (Murphy) Huey

Margaret J. (Murphy) Huey, 90, of Salem Township, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Margaret's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Excela Hospice for their sincere and compassionate care. She was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late James and Ruth (James) Murphy. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard E. Huey and a son, Tarry D. Huey. She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Karen Kunkle and her husband, Tom, of Delmont; and sons, David Huey, of Trees Mills, Todd Huey and his wife, Marilyn, of Rural Valley, and Keith Huey and his wife, Kim, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Kim Huey, Kelly Huey, Julie Herzog, Trevor Herzog and Michelle Huey; sisters, Dorothy Miller, of Delmont, Helen Cope and her husband, Vern, of Greensburg, and Patty Altman and her husband, Martin, of Greensburg. Margaret was very kindhearted, a wonderful mother, grandmother and well-loved by her family. She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers!  A memorial gathering will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, followed by a memorial service commencing at 11 a.m., with Dr. Martin R. Ankrum presiding. Interment will follow at Congruity Cemetery in New Alexandria
