Louise Harriet (Conrad) Johns

Louise H. Conrad Johns, 89, formerly of New Florence and New Alexandria, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, Pa. Louise's family is especially thankful to the nurses and staff of Emeritus at Latrobe and Beacon Ridge in Indiana for their kindness and compassionate care. Louise was set free from the dark veil of dementia and her spirit soars once again inspiring us with the courage, hope and joy of living. She was born June 3, 1925, in St. Clair Township, daughter of the late John R. and Emma. H. Domka Conrad. Louise was married to Thomas Frederick Johns on June 3, 1954, at the family farm. He preceded her in death July 18, 2003. Louise was also predeceased by sisters, Martha Adams and Carolyn LaRosse; and brothers, John, Robert and Raymond Conrad. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Jean (Johns) Junkin, of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Lisa Ann Smith, Howard Thomas Junkin (Tina Benson), Rebecca Lynn Weintraub (Robert) and Louise Marie Erwin (Casey); 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Twila Conrad, of New Florence; and also numerous nieces and nephews. She was formerly employed at Garfield Refractories, Beatty Realty and Banks in New Florence and Greensburg. Her hobbies and interests include ceramics, candy making, crocheting and embroidery. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Latrobe and formerly a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Delmont. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William A. Schaefer, of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Latrobe, presiding. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
