Lloyd L. Piantoni

Lloyd L. Piantoni, of Greensburg, Salem Township, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Salem Township. He was born May 6, 1928, in Delmont, a son of the late Bennett and Jessie (Belora) Piantoni. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his beloved wife, Vera I. (McGee) Piantoni; a son, Lloyd A. Piantoni; and a sister, Pearl Ulicny. He is survived by two daughters, Dolly Piantoni Hartung and her husband, Jeff, of Greensburg, and Karen Kettelhut and her fiance, Richard Brinker Jr., of Export; and grandchildren, Eli Stone, Lloyd and Keith Brinker. Lloyd will also be missed by his special lady friend, Mary Petrina, of McKeesport. Lloyd loved attending races at Learnerville Speedway, polka dancing and working on antique cars and trucks. He was a member of Delmont Presbyterian Church, the Hermanie Slovenian Lodge No. 87 and Claridge Slovenian Club. After 41 years of service, Lloyd retired from the Union Railroad.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, PA 724-468-8381, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Thomas M. Holmes, of Slickville Presbyterian Church, presiding. Interment service will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont with full military honors provided by VFW Post 33 of Greensburg.
