Lawrence H. Bowers, 81, of Delmont, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at his home, with his loving family at his side. He was born June 19, 1935, in Butler, a son of the late Lawrence A. and Marie Bowers. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Bowers; his second wife, Darlene LeCuyer-Bowers; a son, Patrick LeCuyer; and a grandson, Dakota Thomas. He is survived by sons, Thomas Bowers and his wife, Deborah, of Jacksonville, Fla., Steven Bowers and his wife, Sharon, of Crabtree, Ronald LeCuyer and his wife, Liz, of Avella, and David LeCuyer, of Export; by daughters, Kathleen Lloyd, of Export, and Doreen Blasko (Becky), of Export; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Bowers and his wife, Eleanor "Tootie" Bowers, of Cabot. Mr. Bowers graduated from Butler High School, received a Bachelor of Science from Slippery Rock State Teachers College and a Master of Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was employed as a math teacher for 37 and-a-half years with the Franklin Regional School District, where he also served as the school photographer and yearbook supervisor. He also photographed nearly 900 weddings. Mr. Bowers was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Greensburg, serving in many capacities including lay leader, Sunday school superintendent and teacher and president of the board of trustees. He was a certified lay speaker in United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Gideons International, Westmoreland North Camp. According to the family's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial gathering and celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Greensburg, with Pastor Tammy L. Falcsik and Pastor Rhea Summit presiding.
