Doris Rose (Flick) Shusko, 86, formerly of Salina, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Uniontown Hospital. She was born March 14, 1930 in Denbo, Pa., daughter of the late Harry M and Helen (Keys) Flick. In addition to her parents she was predecease by her beloved husband, Thomas G. Shusko, Sr., brother Harry Flick and infant siblings, Robert and Thelma Shusko. Doris is survived by two sons, Thomas Shusko and his wife, Dolores of Gans, Pa. and Michael Shusko and his wife, Karen of Saltsburg, grandchildren Paul Shusko and his wife, Michele of Cliffside Park, NJ, Angelo Shusko and his wife, Robin of Hagerstown, MD, Carl Shusko and his wife, Amanda of Fairchance, Pa., Michael Shusko of Brighton Heights and Matt Shusko of Pittsburg; great grandchildren Cole and Luke Ascione-Shusko, Willow Shusko, Taylor Shusko and Sage Shusko. Doris was a former member of Bell Twp. girl’s basketball team and was the secretary of the Bell-Avon Alumni Association for many years. She was employed at the former Steiner Manufacturing Company in Saltsburg and Penn Needle. Doris was a member of St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church in Slickville. Her hobbies and interests include dancing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, collecting mugs and glasses, collecting state quarters and then sending them to her great grandchildren and sharing smiles and a good laugh. Viasitation for Doris will be held Friday 3-8PM at Bash-Nied Funeral Home 152 Abbe Place, Delmont Pa. 15626. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10AM with Fr. Sam Lamendola as Celebrant. Interment services will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Society 126 S. Main St., Greensburg, Pa. 15601 or Westmoreland County Food Bank 100 Devonshire Dr., Delmont, Pa. 15626 and designate in memory of Doris R.
