Bash - Funeral Director |
Education:
A 1946 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary
Science, he served his two-year internship at the
Edwin W. Hanley Funeral Home, 112 North Avenue,
Pittsburgh; passed the State Board and was licensed
in 1949. He owned and operated the Lysle P. Bash
Funeral Home in Delmont from November 1949 to December
1984 when he sold the business to his son John L.
Bash. He continued to work and be associated with
the John L. Bash Funeral Home, now the Bash-Nied
Funeral Home.
Organizations: In addition to funeral
work, he is a Past District Governor of District
14-E Lions Clubs International; 52-year member of
the Delmont Lion's Club with 48 years perfect attendance;
past president of the Westmoreland County Funeral
Directors Association; member of the Delmont Volunteer
Fire Department; member and elder of the Delmont
Presbyterian Church; and over the years has been
active in the Fire Department, Junior League Baseball,
Boy Scouts and other community projects.
Personal: He has two sons, John
L. Bash, Funeral Director and Ross S. Bash, attorney
and ordained Presbyterian minister; six grandchildren
and three great-grandsons. |
